Suppose column A contains account names, column B contains dates, and column D contains amounts. You want the total for the account in G2 between the dates in H2 and I2.
Illustrative formula

- D:D is the amount column to total.
- A:A, G2 keeps rows for the selected account.
- B:B is checked against the start and end dates.
Assumption: Values in column B are valid spreadsheet dates.
